The Wessex Branch, formerly Salisbury of the OMRS has been in existence since 2001, but was originally formed over 20 years ago by a small group of local enthusiasts who would meet in the back of John Lodge's shop in Castle Street, Salisbury and chat about those small baubles that give us so much pleasure! The original Chairman of the group, John stood down only at the end of 2007.
In 2001 the group decided to close the links with the OMRS and from that point onwards members had to join the Society in order to be part of the group. Since this time the Branch has continued to expand to its present membership of around 25 people with members coming from as far as Slough, London and the South Coast. Until recently the meetings were held every two months in the homes of the Chairman and Vice-Chairman, however increasing membership has meant that we have now had to take on a larger facility, and it is planned in future to hold meetings at the Godolphin School at Laverstock, Salisbury.
Meetings are normally held on the third Tuesday of every other month and usually last from around 19:30 hrs until 22:00 hrs.
